The soundtrack was released on January 9 to positive reviews as was the movie. The ALPHA DOG soundtrack is young, hip and gritty, consisting of classic '90s hip-hop, funk and rock that makes these streets come alive. The hip hop music was specifically written for the film, performed by a variety of artists, including Lazarus, Tech N9ne, Aaron Zigman, Eva Cassidy, and Mic Holden. The soundtrack hit stores on January 9, 2007.
