1/17/2007 |ALPHA DOG MOVIE SOUNDTRACK FEATURING LAZARUS
The soundtrack for Universal Pictures 2007 movie "ALPHA DOG" features (at track #2) "Enemy and I" by Lazarus. The soundtrack was released on January 9 to positive reviews as was the movie.

The ALPHA DOG soundtrack is young, hip and gritty, consisting of classic '90s hip-hop, funk and rock that makes these streets come alive. The hip hop music was specifically written for the film, performed by a variety of artists, including Lazarus, Tech N9ne, Aaron Zigman, Eva Cassidy, and Mic Holden. The soundtrack hit stores on January 9, 2007.

Chosen as the closing film for the Sundance Film Festival, the newest release for director Nick Cassavetes (THE NOTEBOOK, JOHN Q), ALPHA DOG surprises the audience again and again. The cast not only makes the Los Angeles landscape come alive, but also creates deep, affecting relationships. And what a cast it is with A-listers Justin Timberlake, Sharon Stone and Bruce Willis in the mix.

Interestingly, ALPHA DOG is inspired by actual events – that is, the tale of a mid-level drug dealer from California's San Gabriel Valley, whose thirst for power led him to become the youngest man at the age of 19, to ever appear on the FBI's Most Wanted list.

Movie synopsis: Emile Hirsch stars as a teenage suburban drug dealer, named Johnny Truelove, which is based on the real life criminal, Jesse James Hollywood. Johnny is an ambitious young man whose lifestyle is a mecca for guns, sex and drugs. And when a “client” cheats Johnny, and a deal goes bad, he devises a plan to get his money back by kidnapping the client's younger brother.
"Cassavetes simply plunges you into an unhealthy environment of social disintegration and never eases up." -- The Hollywood Reporter
